San Carlos is a popular beach front community located in northwest Mexico. Considered one of the most important tourist destinations in Sonora, San Carlos offers visitors a wide variety of activities, of which deep sea fishing is a main attraction.
San Carlos is blessed with two of the finest marinas in all of Latin America. Marina San Carlos, our home port, is the older and larger of the two and is conveniently located in the center of the community. Long renowned by long range cruisers as a “hurricane hole”, Marina San Carlos has sheltered anchorage in the outer bay and slips for over 350 vessels in the inner marina. The newer Marina Real is open to private, non-commercial vessels only.
Access to San Carlos is available by private auto or airplane, express bus from Phoenix, Tucson or Nogales and scheduled airline service through nearby Guaymas (GYM) or Hermosillo (HMO), just an hour away. Daily round trip airline service between Phoenix and Guaymas is provided by US Airways on a direct 75 minute flight. Other carriers provide service to Hermosillo from additional US cities.
